OK, let’s accept that the current inhabitant at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, D.C., a.k.a. White House, is not a complete imbecile. (A difficult notion to accept, but, for argument’s sake, why not.)
Let’s believe those who say that it’s only that Joe Biden’s age is catching up with him.
That’s the diagnosis offered by Dr. Ronny Jackson, a medical doctor who had served the two American Presidents who had preceded the current incumbent as their personal physician, and served in the White House for three Presidents. He knows the White House and its workings inside out.
So far as Dr. Jackson is concerned, Biden will not complete his full four years in office. And that before his first year in office has expired.
Dr. Jackson has won a seat in the U.S. Congress in 2020, representing Texas’s 13th congressional district for the Republican Party. A physician and a politician, Jackson is also a retired United States Navy rear admiral. He joined the White House Medical Unit in the mid-2000s under George W. Bush, and served as Physician to the President from 2013 to 2018 under both Barack Obama and Donald Trump.
Dr. Jackson began to question Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities during the 2020 campaign. As he summed it up, Biden was senile.
Dr. Jackson saw Joe Biden up close and in person during the Obama administration and noticed Joe Biden was a shadow of his former self.
Joe Biden served as Barack Obama’s vice-president from 2009 to 2017. That means he had been under Dr. Jackson’s care all along.
Speaking to one of America’s currently leading television personalities, Laura Ingraham, Dr. Jackson went for the jugular right off the mark: Biden would step down before 2024 due to his growing senility, Dr. Jackson said. Biden is a national security threat to the United States. After all, the President is the only guy who is authorised to push the button that starts nuclear wars.
“There is absolutely no way,” Dr. Jackson started.
“You mark my word. He (Biden) will not run for President for a second term. He will be 82 years old,” Dr. Jackson added.
“I’m going to stick to what I’ve been saying all along since he was candidate Biden. He won’t make it to the end of this term. They will remove him at some point.”
Not one to shy away from controversy stirred by predictions, Dr. Jackson said: “After the 2022 midterms, they’re going to have to address his cognitive issues. It won’t be Ronny Jackson talking about it anymore. It’s going to be the Democrats, and they’re going to have to explain what is going on with him.”
And who is, as the cliché has it, a heartbeat away from the Oval Office?
Why, Kamala Harris, who didn’t make it even on the Democratic Party’s voting list when time came to select the party’s presidential candidate. She wouldn’t be even considered.
That’s what Dr. Jackson had in mind when he spoke about Democratic Party’s left-wing insiders’ feeling that the time for Kamala Harris to take over was now. Showing Biden aside as Dr. Jackson put it, was her only chance to serve as President.
If Joe Biden resigns from office before the 2024 election, she’ll serve the term out.
“And make no mistake about it,” Dr. Jackson told Ingraham, “there are a certain number of people in the White House right now — Kamala Harris walks past that office every day and looks in there. She thinks I’m going to be president pretty soon. And she might be right. She probably is right.”
Even the most ideological fanatics of Democratic Party’s left wing know this, Dr. Jackson concluded: “That’s the only way she is ever going to become president because she’s not going to get elected. So there’s going to be a big incentive to get him out of there.”
Most Americans must have noticed that Biden is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Saying that he’s in poor mental shape is putting it mildly.
After all, that was the main reason why he had spent most of the presidential campaign in hiding.
An increasing number of political Washington, D.C. insiders have been going on record in recent weeks, saying just how bad Joe Biden’s mental fitness was and how unlikely it is that he will run again in 2024.
Who’s smearing whom?
In response to his conversation with Laura Ingraham, Dr. Jackson received an e-mail from Obama. Dr. Jackson described it as “scathing.”
Within 20 minutes, Obama “just tore me up,” Jackson said. “An entire page about how disappointed he was in me and how it’s beneath me as a physician and beneath me as an officer in the military to be attacking Joe Biden like this.
“And it was a betrayal of the trust that he and his administration put in me and he was so disappointed in me.”
What’s Dr. Jackson’s defence? The truth: “All I know is that he’s got age-related cognitive decline,” Dr. Jackson said. “He is not mentally fit right now. He’s 78 years old and you can see it. You don’t need to be a physician to look at him and to look at his behaviour and some of the other stuff, just the way he shuffles away, stares off into space.”
As if trying to confirm Dr. Jackson’s words, Biden has not released his medical report since 2019 and his administration has deflected questions about his health all along.
Meanwhile, CNN hopped on the bandwagon of Dr. Jackson’s critics. The network said it had received a Department of Defence inspector general’s review even before the office was ready to release it, and that the report said that Dr. Jackson made “sexual and denigrating” comments about a female subordinate, violated the policy for drinking alcohol while on a presidential trip and took prescription-strength sleeping medication that prompted concerns from his colleagues about his ability to provide proper care.
Not that the CNN would stress such lines as “We found no evidence to support the allegation that RDML Jackson got drunk and wrecked a government vehicle.”
That’s buried inside the report and the CNN, quite obviously, is not expecting anybody to download the 37-page-long report and read it. The funniest part: the expression “we found no evidence” appears five times in the report. The CNN somehow overlooked it.
How frightfully extraordinary.
And how perfectly foul that the question of the unelectable Kamala Harris entering the Oval Office as its new inhabitant hasn’t scared many out of their wits.
It should, and it should have.
